Pro-Life for Gaza babies

 

Many people who are Christians take what they would see as a "strong" pro-life stance.  This means that we do not support abortion and do not want people to have an option to abort a baby.  This belief, I think, is grounded in the idea that each human person is made in the image of God and should be highly valued, even as an embryo.

When I was younger much focus came on the idea of partial-birth abortion, in which a baby was partially born, and as the mother is giving birth, the baby is murdered.

What horror this is to the dying child it is a wonder to know if they will ever retell.

What about birth abortions?  Birth abortions would be abortions in which the baby is actually born, but after being born that same baby is murdered by being shot and killed - intentionally.

The total fertility rate in Gaza is among the highest in the world, which means that babies are ALWAYS being born. Every bomb that goes off in the concentration camp that is called the Gaza Strip is a myriad of full birth abortions, not to mention the abortions from the mothers that are blown up by bombs and shot with guns.  

Of the approxamtely 2.3 million human beings made in the image of God in the Gaza Strip 

16% (about 350,000) are under the age of 5.

28% (about 650,000) are under the age of 10.

40% (about 920,000) are under the age of 14.

Do you know a 14 year old in your life?

Do you, like me, have an 8 year old son?

When I think about what it would be like for my child, if we really understand God's vision for us, our children, being blown up in the Gaza Strip concentration camp, we would beg people to stop.

Retaliation never seems to work, does it?

Jesus, send us to our knees praying for the children of this world, not only the babies in the womb, but also the babies that have been delivered unto death and no one seems to care.

May we pray for the world to stop producing and using bombs to blow up the babies of the world.

in Bethlehem, Gaza, and beyond

with every single one He is fond

Is supporting a military regime in Israel today in order to blow up Gaza babies 

any different

than supporting a military regime in Israel 2000 years ago to slaughter the babies of Bethlehem

May we not be surprized at the grief and anger of Gaza

just as Rachel refused to be comforted when all her children were slaughtered.

Jesus' Resurrection as the First Resurrection

 Reciting the books of Luke, Acts, and Revelation make me think that it would be absurd to think of any resurrection besides Jesus' as the First Resurrection at the end of the book of Revelation.  

PROS:

Jesus' Resurrection is indeed the first resurrection.

Peter and John in Acts 4 are announcing that the resurrection of the dead is happening because of Jesus. 

Those who died, seated on thrones, who are participating in the first resurrection, in the book of Revelation are "with the Lord" and connected to his bodily resurrection, not to their own bodies, as the are still bone and ash.  

You don't have to make up some convoluted theory about a three stage resurrection that is not substantiated in the New Testament.

SHAME the new Great Lakes acronym

The HOMES acronym was so helpful to me to remember the names of the Great Lakes, being a person who mostly spent time on Lake Michigan alone. I was trying to think darn it now what acronym will there be if everyone except MapQuest switches to America instead of Ontario trying to erase someone’s name or a name that’s been there for a long time and sticking a different name on it a name that somehow is attached to one country in many peoples minds, even though really it is attached to all the countries of the north and South America. What an acronym would be beneficial in remembering this switch? As I started to think of the different acronyms, I really do like acronyms, I thought of SHSH could be used to make a word because SHSA good sound that we all know and is easily remembered, but what would come after it 0SHAME shame shame, shame, shame shame like shame on you like what a shame like oh my goodness that is such a shame and I thought yeah that would be very memorable. I could remember that so I guess we switched our homes for shame.
